An Electric Engineering Major's Senior Project
Despite having been made obsolete in most applications over half a century ago, vacuum tubes remain the gold standard component in professional quality guitar amplifiers. While vacuum tube guitar amplifiers sound great, they have many significant drawbacks. They are expensive, fragile, and need regular maintenance. They are not very versatile or portable. The goal of this project was to design and build a versatile portable guitar amp that sounds great without the downsides of a vacuum tube amplifier.
