Package delivery is a multi-million dollar industry relying on human drivers for its success. That human capital is a major cost for the industry both in time and money which is ultimately passed on to the customers. These costs can be reduced by the introduction of autonomous delivery vehicles. These machines are faced with the task of navigating to a destination along the best path while avoiding moving obstacles. The autonomous vehicle we propose will use a GPS system to determine the best path to the destination combined with an array of ultrasonic sensors for object detection. This will allow our vehicle to safely and quickly reach its destination. With such technology the costs of delivery will be reduced. This will allow the industry to expand and continue to meet the needs of its customers.
