Master of Engineering (ME) and Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Overview:

Utah State University (USU) is pleased to offer a unique two-year program designed for engineers who would like to add to their technical knowledge as well as develop the business skills needed to keep pace in the global technical world of the 21st century. Upon completion of the six-semester program, each student will have earned a Master of Engineering (ME) degree as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Application deadline for the program will be January 1st for the following fall semester. Students will first apply to the ME program. If accepted, students will advance to the MBA program at the end of the ME program year.

Admission Requirements:

  • Completed application submitted online to the School of Graduate Studies at Utah State
  • Nonrefundable application fee of $55
  • Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended: 3.0 GPA for last 60 semester hours of university course work
  • Three letters of recommendation: each must address the applicant's potential for success in a graduate degree program
  • The ECE Department has temporarily suspended the GRE requirement until further notice
  • TOEFL scores of 79-80 or above internet-based or IELTS score of 6 or above (Applies to international students only. This requirement will be waived if a student has a degree from a university in an English speaking country.)

Course of Study*

On-campus students may complete the two master degrees in six continuous semesters, beginning with fall semester. Students will be expected to take classes during summer semesters in order to complete the program in two years. In order to qualify for graduation, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Additionally, students may not receive a grade less than a C in any class in either program.

*Course of study subject to slight variation. Off-campus students may complete the ME degree via distance education and the MBA degree in one of the MBA programs offered throughout the state. Please be aware that the length of the programs will be longer for off-campus students.
